Spectacular Kids Occupational Therapy is a boutique pediatric practice based in Westchester County, NY, dedicated to empowering children and adolescents to thrive through compassionate, evidence-based care. About the Role
We are seeking a dedicated licensed Occupational Therapist (OTR/L) contracted through Spectacular Kids Occupational Therapy to provide school-based services at a specialized school in Yonkers, NY to students ages 3–21 within CPSE and CSE programs.
The therapist will support a diverse student population including neurodivergent learners and students with complex developmental and medically fragile needs. The role focuses on improving students’ ability to participate in classroom routines and educational activities by addressing functional skills related to motor development, sensory processing, self-regulation, adaptive functioning, and participation in daily school routines while collaborating with teachers, related service providers, and school teams.
Responsibilities
• Provide direct occupational therapy services to students ages 3–21 in CPSE and CSE programs
• Support neurodivergent students and students with medically complex needs, including those in specialized classrooms
• Address functional skills related to motor development, sensory processing, self-regulation, adaptive skills, and participation in classroom routines
• Collaborate with teachers, related service providers, and school staff to support student success
• Complete daily documentation and timesheets in accordance with school requirements
• Contribute to quarterly progress reports and annual IEP goal development
• Support functional and vocational skill development for older students when appropriate
Qualifications
• Licensed Occupational Therapist (OTR/L) in New York State
• CPR certification
• Ability to obtain and maintain individual professional liability insurance
• Strong communication and collaboration skills
Preferred Skills
• Experience working with neurodivergent students and children with medically complex needs
• Experience in school-based or pediatric settings
• Familiarity with CPSE/CSE service delivery and school-based documentation systems
• Experience supporting children with sensory processing, emotional regulation, feeding, and functional participation needs
Pay
• $70/hour (1099 independent contractor)
• Paid onboarding and mentorship
• School schedule (4.5–5.5 hours per day) following the Yonkers Public School calendar
• Two nearby school locations (different days)
